Sandy Freeman

Oil Painter

My interest in animal portraiture comes from years of living on a ranch in Texas surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, and the wildlife that I love. 30 years of training and riding competitive Dressage gave me a feel for the horse's many expressions. Living with and loving dogs my entire life has left me with a desire to capture their humorous and endearing spirits. My work does not reflect high realism but rather a bold, expressive style, using broad strokes and bold colors. My paintings are acrylics and oils, although I am also experienced with watercolor and pastels.
