Mary Morton

Oil Painting

Mary Morton has lived, worked and volunteered in the Boerne area for the past 34 years. She is
a volunteer at heart and gives of her time when asked. She was a student of the Southwest School of Arts in photography in the late '90s and offered her volunteer expertise to help introduce Fotoseptiembre USA to the Boerne area in 2002. Mary was a two-year board member for the Boerne Area Arts Council, now known as the Hill Country Council for the Arts. She and her husband, Michael, are supporters and volunteers for the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne. These volunteer experiences with nature, the arts and friends have proven to be instrumental in Mary’s artistic expression through her photography, drawing and paintings. Morton is a participating member of the Gentileschi Aegis Gallery Association (gaga), a supportive association for woman artists of South Texas.

In 2010, Mary turned to painting and has chosen oil as her medium. Years of photographing her family and friends have helped her find her desire to paint expressionistic portraitures. Mary Morton continues to volunteer in her community and is now the chairman for the fourth year for the Boerne Art Waddle, a wonderful local outdoor neighborhood art exhibit.
